Re-Introducing Isovera: We're Different. We're the Same.
Isovera's e-guana tools circa 1999. If you look closely, you'll see that we're also in the T-shirt business!
,
Flash forward to 2010. An exciting time for the web and what was possible — which was (and is) a lot. Static websites were becoming dinosaurs. The ability for more and more organizations to deliver high-level experiences to their website audience was no longer restricted to just the Fortune 500.
During this time, Isovera decided to re-focus. With the rising complexity of web design/develop projects, the “full-service” approach had a tendency to deliver inconsistent results for many firms like ourselves. Conceptually, we did not want to be the web shop version of the Cheesecake Factory (can they really make all of those menu items that well?!). We decided to focus on what we were doing really well, which was leveraging the power and flexibility of a very cool open source platform - Drupal.
Isovera continued to bring in talented people focused on executing and implementing our partners’/clients’ visions. We won awards and received kudos for our work. We were happy to be bringing the principles of best practices software development to the web world.
Paramount to transitioning to a Drupal-focused development firm was underscoring something that remains consistent at Isovera - always exceeding expectations with communication. Many of our clients had come to us from previous vendors not because of cost or expertise, but because of frustrating communications.
So here we are in 2016 and Isovera is, “re-focusing our focus” by bringing in top-tier UX/Design strategyto our service offerings. This decision to expand our offerings is rooted in our philosophy of delivering quality, and not specifically tied to any financial bottom line initiative. As we have worked with many great partners over the years, we are still seeing fundamental flaws in the collaborative Design — Development approach (articulated awesomely by our own Jason Pamental). In a nutshell, the design to development “hand-off” is dysfunctional. Nutshell #2 - the industry is still slow to rid themselves of the, “Here’s the PSDs, developers. Go at it.” Absent of any real previous input from said developers.
With that, Isovera is grabbing the proverbial bull by the horns and bringing design/strategy expertise in-house. This not only offers more to clients, but also can serve as guiding hand if an organization has that expertise internally and needs a relatable voice.
We are also addressing the scarcity of really good Drupal development. Many firms start as design firms and add developers somewhat on an as-needed basis. This results in many of our peers having developers that are over-worked or over-matched. Conversely, Isovera’s previous development-first focus provides the necessary scaffolding to insure successful implementation. This kind of total collaborative workflow will always result in better projects, with fewer surprises.
This is an extremely exciting time for Isovera; and, if I may speak for them, our current and future clients. When it comes down to it, most of what we do is a means-to-an-end deliverable for forward-thinking organizations. The “how we do it” is sometimes understood (like with design and strategy) and often times less understood (seen our code lately?) which is why our success is rooted in our core values that haven’t changed since 1999 - our commitment to client services and communication. So actually, our real focus has not changed at all.
