DrupalCon Denver highlights - Day 2
Selected highlights from Day 2 include:
Drupal Commerce: eCommerce Any Way You Need It
http://denver2012.drupal.org/program/sessions/drupal-commerce-ecommerce-...
Key points from this talk were:
- A recent $5 million investment will allow faster movement on Drupal Commerce over the coming months (e.g. by employing extra resources for development and documentation) - the focus will be on making a better experience for store administrators (rather than just developers)
- A new Commerce Kickstart feature will be ready soon - providing a more polished entry for new users
Drupal 8 Meets Symfony2

Slides available at: http://speakerdeck.com/u/fabpot/p/symfony2-meets-drupal-8
Given the announcement by Dries that Symfony2 will form a key part of Drupal 8, this was a very well attended and important session. Fabien Potencier, the founder of Symfony, gave the presentation. This included a detailed overview of how Symfony2 works, with a focus on the aspects of relevance to Drupal. This was definitely not the easiest session to follow, due to the new concepts and detailed technical discussion. However, it is an important first step in an understand of the future underlying code of Drupal 8.
Drupal Commerce Contrib Overview
http://denver2012.drupal.org/program/sessions/drupal-commerce-contrib-ov...
A rapid run through many of the key contributed add-on modules to Drupal Commerce. Definitely worth watching if you're using Drupal Commerce at all.
Drupalize Your Data: Use Entities!
http://denver2012.drupal.org/program/sessions/drupalize-your-data-use-en...
This didn't really add anything to the DrupalCon London talk last summer. There was some talk of remote entities, NoSQL, etc., but this wasn't detailed enough to provide practical examples of how to do this.
