A quick note for core contributors regarding Drupal 8 issue tags related to the upcoming release candidate phase:

On Friday, 2nd Oct 2015, we organized the first virtual media sprint. Four sprinters showed up and worked on D8 media issues.

First a bit of background

One of our members needed to fix an issue for a site in Internet Explorer 11. At the same time, he wanted to avoid changes that might mess up other browsers. The site looks fine in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera.

I recently inherited a Drupal 7 theme that did not use CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less. While the CSS files were clearly organized, they contained more than 15,000 lines of code which made maintainability a difficult task.

Too often we assume that some things are plainly obvious. However, for a brand new user to Drupal, knowing the best practices for Drupal site creation is a must.

Everyone’s excited for Drupal 8 to come out. Now that we’re flirting with 0 critical bugs, we wanted to give a shout out to everyone who has put their hard work and love into building Drupal 8.
